Weight Weight Wednesday (5/9)

I know I promised last week to share some juice recipes, but I have some other things on my mind this morning. My favorite juice recipes will be in next week’s installment of Weight Weight Wednesday.

As you may notice from my ticker at the bottom of this post, I am up a pound from last week. I’m angry and frustrated. Not at the scale….but at myself. I let myself slip back into some old habits and that is a slippery, slippery slope that I cannot afford to go down.

My weight was up last Thursday, so I decided not to log it in My Fitness Pal. “I’ll log it when I’m down again”, I figured. Except it didn’t go down. Well, technically it went up a bit and down a bit, but never below the number I had logged on Wednesday.

I faced the music this morning and logged my weight. I know that I need to weigh myself and log it every day. It helps keep me accountable. .

I also had a few too many “I deserve it” moments. Like “I deserve to have cake and ice cream because I had a root canal” (where is the logic in that?!?!) and “I deserve M&Ms because I worked hard in the yard”.

You know what I deserve….to be healthy. I deserve that and my family deserves that.

The logical side of my brain knows that…I just need to get the emotional side to catch up. It’s a constant struggle but I will battle through it.

The good news from this week is that even when I made poor choices, I still logged everything in My Fitness Pal. My user name is erink0712. If you are on My Fitness Pal, send me a friend request.

I’m headed on vacation in a couple days and I nervous about sticking to my plan while I am gone. We are renting a beach house with some other family members, so in theory I could bring my juicer along but I’m just not sure I want to do that. I’m thinking that I will make a few bottles of juice ahead of time (it’s good for up to 3 days) and then I picked up some Naked Juice at Costco for the second half of the trip.

I will still log everything I eat in My Fitness Pal and plan on taking lots of long beach walks.

Any other tips for sticking with the plan while I am on vacation?
