Weight Weight Wednesday (7/18)

Oh hey…it’s Wednesday. My apologies for the lack of Weight Weight Wednesday posts and link-ups over the past several weeks. I’ve been trudging along without many positive thoughts to share, which probably means that I should really haveĀ  been writing about how things are going.

Only 2 short weeks until I leave for NYC and BlogHer ’12 and zero chance I will make the weight loss goal I set for myself (unless anyone knows where I could acquire a tapeworm). I’ve been losing the same three pounds for the past month. So frustrating!

But I’m trying to remain positive. I’ve been eating a lot cleaner and cutting out most carbs. So even though I’m not seeing the results on the scale, I do feel better which is definitely nice.

I have been really inspired lately by one of my “competitors” in our BlogHer weight loss challenge, Courtney from Believe, Trust, Change. You should definitely go check out her blog. Courtney started her weight loss journey at a similar weight to my current weight and she is totally rocking her journey. She has a personal goal to burn 500 calories a day and her workout posts alone make me tired! To track her calorie burn, she uses a Polar FT4F Heart Rate Monitor. Amazon has these for around $65, which Courtney says is a great price. I’m considering getting one because I love the idea of challenging myself to reach a daily goal.

Have you used a heart rate monitor before? Worth the investment?

How is your weight loss journey going? Do you find it easier or harder to focus this time of year?

  1. I’m getting better at eating clean except for the occasional treat. I’m still lacking on the exercise piece though.

    • Me too. I figured one thing at a time. If I can get the eating part under control, then I can start to focus on exercise.

  2. I started The Insanity workout this week. It’s not as bad as I thought but then again it is only day 2. :)

  3. I just started a diet two weeks ago, and I am doing alright. I just find it really hard to be a mom and lose weight, if that makes sense. It has helped me fix healthier stuff for my kids, but they still need to eat, so it’s a challenge! LOL!

    • I know exactly what you mean, Gena. I have found that my son actually prefers the healthy stuff (weird kid!). He would much rather have tofu than chicken nuggets. I just need to remember that when I’m planning meals.

  4. I am trying to lose weight too and it is not working out too good. I have to really push myself to drop this baby weight!

  6. Thanks for the link up! I’m in the middle of a 30-Day Personal Challenge to get overall healthy, so I’ve been trying to eat cleaner and exercise more. It’s hard to establish healthy habits. I have trouble motivating to exercise this time of year because of the heat. I don’t like working out inside really (I don’t push myself as hard), but outside is such a sticky hot mess where I am that I could stand still and break into a dripping sweat.

Good luck to you and your fitness goals! I’m visiting from SITS, and I’ll be back!

  7. I’m on a Sharefest visit from SITS. I explored your website and like the crafts page. I also read this blog about Weight Weight Wednesdays. Don’t let yourself feel down. What other people do applies to how their body works. Good Luck. I believe you can do it, now you need to believe it, too.
