I am leaving for BlogHer ’12 in 6 days and the final weigh-in for the weight loss competition with some fellow attendees is this coming Monday. Right now, I am down 8 lbs for our 7 week competition despite a very slow start (and even slower middle). I had a personal goal of losing 14.4 in 7 weeks, but that is not going to happen. Unless someone has a stomach bug they would like to pass my way.
Thanks to a comment on last week’s post, I was introduced to a great new blog…Weed ‘em and Reap. I poked around DaNelle’s website and found her awesome post on Juice Feasting. I love this reframing of the idea of juice fasting. A juice feast isn’t about starving yourself, it’s about getting your required calories through delicious juiced fruits and veggies.
I decided to do a Juice Feast this past weekend. Just two days…nothing too hard core. I quick Google search for “weekend juice cleanse” brought me to this website. I highly recommend you check it out. These are some of the BEST juice recipes I have made. My favorite recipes was a combination of orange, pineapple and lime juice blended with a spicy chili pepper. So yummy!
I lost 4 lbs on my weekend juice feast. And I feel fantastic. I really need to remember how good I feel when I eat clean and avoid carbs. I need to be able to hold onto this feeling when those cravings start to hit.
One top of eating really well over the past week or so, I’ve worked out three days in a row. Shocking, I know! I did a treadmill workout twice and then walked around the lake while my husband and son played at the park the other night. At least it’s something.
Even if I don’t hit my goal, I’m headed to BlogHer feeling confident and proud of myself for what I do accomplish.

I really wished I had done better in time for BlogHer. But I know it just won’t happen. With one off week that threw off the rest of my weight loss, I won’t be making my goal for next week either. But I’m ok with that. I still have a ways to go on my journey. I just hope that I succeed in meeting it within the next year!

I think I will give this juicing a try. I could really use the help to loose a couple of pounds before my vacation.
I’m going to BlogHer, too! I’m a bit nervous because it’s my 1st big conference. My local blogging group, Philly Social Media Moms, has been doing monthly workshops which is good and not so overwhelming.
If you want to meet, you can tweet me at @BarbHoyer.
