My Target Trip

I mentioned over on Twitter…..

Wait, you don’t follow me on Twitter? :gasp:

Well, you really should.

I’m quite hilarious.

When I remember to tweet.

Which is basically never.

Anywho…..I mentioned on Twitter that I got $50+ in groceries at Target for just $8.75. There is an awesome coupon right now for a $10 Target gift card when you spend $50. The $50 limit is before other coupons, as long as you remember to hand over that coupon first. The coupon expires tomorrow, so you better get moving.

(4) Panko ($1.97/each)
- (4) $3/1 Panko coupons (no longer available)

(3) Starbucks Coffee ($7.99/each)
- $3/2 Starbucks coupon from 12/4 SS
– $1/1 Starbucks coupon from 12/4 SS

(2) Clif-Z bars ($2.92/each)
- (2) $1/1 Clif-Z bars (no longer available)

(2) Minute Maid Juice 10-packs ($3.19/each)
- (2) $1/1 Minute Maid Juice coupons

(2) Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate packets ($1.19/each)
- $1/2 Swiss Miss coupon (Albertson’s coupon book?)
$0.50/2 Swiss Miss Target coupon

(2) Cars Stocking Stuffers ($1.00/each)

(2) Packs of Thanksgiving plates ($0.90)

My total before coupons was $50. 25. I handed over my $10 gift card coupon first.

My total after coupons was $28.75.

Received the $10 gift card, a $5 gift card for buying 3 Starbucks, and will submit for a $5 Starbucks card here.

Grand total = $8.75

Basically I bought one package of coffee and got everything else for FREE. Love shopping trips like this.

I had several extra prints of the $10 gift card coupon so I played Coupon Santa and gave them to several other shoppers. One mom was so excited. She said “you made my day”. Which totally made my day that I could help her out!

Target: Saved 80%

I ran to Target to take advantage of the Kashi deal this week (Buy 5, Get 1 Free). I had a bunch of different Kashi coupons and I think I put together a pretty good deal. I was hoping to get some cereal as well, but none of my coupons matched up so I passed on it.

If you get your Red Plum in your mail, check the insert that came out this week for some Target Kashi coupons. Mine had Target coupons for $1/2 Kashi snacks and $1/2 Kashi or Bear Naked Cereal. Hmm….maybe I will go back and do this deal again.

My $2/1 coupons for the Planters peanut butter were expiring yesterday and I was bummed because I hadn’t been able to find it yet. But lo and behold, my Target just started carrying it.

My FREEBIE Target Shopping Trip

I had some free coupons that were expiring soon, so I ran to Target and picked up everything in the picture for just $0.58.
The freebie coupons were either ones I picked up at the BlogHer’11 conference or received from a giveaway on the products’ Facebook page. The only thing I paid for was the marshmallows, which were $0.29 each after a $1/1 from Vocalpoint (another great source for freebie coupons).
I generally hold onto freebie coupons until close to their expiration dates and try and leverage them into bigger savings. For example, a Buy One, Get One Free sale plus a free coupon would equal two products for free.
Want to go on your own FREEBIE shopping spree? Don’t forget to enter to win my current giveaway with over $50 in FREE coupons.

More Target Toy Clearance Finds

I was driving past a Target today that my girlfriend had scouted out yesterday and said that they had not started marking down yet, but a sales associate had told her it would happen over the weekend. I decided to run in and see if they had started marking down. Most things were still 30% and 50% off, but look what I found for 75% off.

Fisher Price Big Action Dig ‘n Ride ($10.56)
Super Spidey Activity Ride On ($8.74)
Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Cell Phone ($3.24)
Plastic Fireman Hat ($1.62) (for my son’s upcoming firetruck birthday party)

Regular Price = $96.64
My Price = $24.16

I was SO excited to find the Fisher Price Dig ‘n Ride. It was an online return, so complete luck that I happened upon it. My son is absolutely going to love it. I am now done birthday and Christmas shopping for my son and my nephew. I’ll add some books and stocking stuffers for my son, but it feels great to be done with the big stuff.

Target Toy Clearance

I was lamenting over on Twitter that I didn’t think I had done very well at the big Target 75% off toy clearance. But when I got home and looked at what I got again, I was pretty happy. I may not have saved hundreds of dollars, but I also didn’t spend hundreds of dollars. I spent less than $40 on everything pictured below.

2 Handy Manny Consturction Sets
2 Cars Duplo Sets
Sorry Spin Game
Stick a Doodle Paper and Markers
2 Baby Washclothes

Regular Price = $ 149.92
My Price = $ 37.34

I was really excited to find the Duplo sets because those rarely go on sale. And there are REALLY pricey! I was hoping to find the Fisher Price barbeque set. My girlfriend actually had one in her cart for me at another store, but someone took it when she had her back turned (seriously!!!).

So I was feeling good about my trip….until my sister sent me a picture of her trip.

Wowza! She spent $114 on over $380 dollars worth of merchandise. And to top it off, she will be donating most of it to Seattle Children’s Hospital!

Nice work, Rachel. You definitely win this round (we’re sisters…everything is a competition).

Did you go to the big toy sale? What did you get?
